The purpose

The idea behind
Propeller.

Some work belongs close to the devices and data it serves. Propeller orchestrates WebAssembly workloads across cloud and edge environments, giving teams a way to deploy application logic where it is needed.

Package workloads in an OCI registry, assign them through the manager, and run them on distributed workers called proplets. Sandboxed runtimes support local processing, automation, and inference, with WAMR on Zephyr extending the approach to constrained devices.

Inside Propeller

A closer look.

Explore the capabilities
and the thinking behind them.

01

Place work where it matters

Deploy WebAssembly applications across cloud servers, Linux gateways, and supported microcontrollers.

02

Use a familiar delivery path

Store and distribute workloads through OCI-compliant registries, keeping deployment connected to your build workflow.

03

Run in a sandbox

Execute application logic in isolated WebAssembly runtimes, including WAMR on Zephyr for constrained devices.

04

Keep execution in view

Manage jobs and workers, inspect logs, and follow workload status across your deployment.

From intent to action

How it works.

A path through Propeller,
one step at a time.

  1. 01

    Build the workload

Compile your processing, automation, or inference logic into a WebAssembly module for the target runtime.

  2. 02

    Publish and deploy

Push the module to an OCI registry and use Propeller to assign it to the appropriate workers.

  3. 03

    Observe and update

Review execution status and logs, then deploy revised workloads as your application evolves.
